Three years ago, Drotsky was approached by the Moreletapark Church in Pretoria to aid the design of equipment to densify dried lawn clippings. There is more irrigated grass in towns and cities than any farmland. Lawn clippings have a great nutritional value due to the fact that lawns are better fertilized. Their aim was to collect, and then distribute grass to needy farmers. Pelleting was not a feasible option since a substantial amount of energy and cost is involved. Drotsky offered to design and manufacture a hydraulic press to densify the collected grass. The machine was quite effective and although the project didn’t continue Drotsky can now offer farmers the option to create their own feed blocks. The machines can differ in size and are specifically designed in accordance with the clients needs and pocket.
