NAMPO 2026: Farming Forward Through Innovation
Date: 21/04/2026
South African agriculture is no stranger to pressure. Whether it's unpredictable weather patterns, climbing input costs, or the uncertainty that comes with shifting markets and policy landscapes, producers are being tested on multiple fronts. In 2026, the response to that pressure has a name: resilience.

It's the driving principle behind this year's NAMPO Harvest Day, scheduled for 12 to 15 May 2026 at NAMPO Park near Bothaville. Running under the theme "Resilience through Innovation," the event once again positions itself as the Southern Hemisphere's premier agricultural exhibition. It’s the definitive gathering point for producers, agribusinesses, and everyone connected to the agricultural value chain.
“NAMPO Harvest Day remains the most important meeting point for agriculture in South Africa - especially at a time when producers are operating under increasing pressure. Resilience is no longer only about survival, but about the ability to adapt, make better decisions and remain sustainably profitable. NAMPO brings together the solutions, technologies and conversations producers need to face these challenges with confidence,” says Dr Dirk Strydom, Managing Director of NAMPO (Pty) Ltd.
The theme couldn't be more fitting. In today's farming environment, staying profitable means more than weathering the storm, it means adapting to it. Managing risk, improving efficiency, and embracing practical innovation are no longer optional extras; they're necessities. NAMPO 2026 reflects that reality, giving producers hands-on access to the precision technologies, advanced mechanisation, improved crop genetics, and data-driven tools reshaping modern agriculture.
What's New at NAMPO 2026
- New vehicle launches, including an exciting attempt to break a world record, making this one of the most anticipated reveals at this year's show
- Several new tractor models will be making their official debut, giving producers a first look at the latest in mechanisation
- Spray drone demonstrations and practical technology showcases will keep innovation front and centre, offering hands-on insight into the tools shaping modern farming
- New buildings and expanded exhibition space on the northern side of the grounds mean more room to explore, with a greater variety of exhibitors than ever before
- Chinese and Italian international pavilions bring a global perspective to the show, broadening the range of products and ideas on display
- A new leisure area with refreshments gives visitors a comfortable spot to recharge between exhibits The Six Gun Grill Country Hall returns as a popular destination for a proper sit-down meal and a well-earned break from the action
- The Santam Agriculture Women's Programme, presented in partnership with Rooi Rose, returns to the beloved Rooi Rose tent with a packed lineup of inspiration and entertainment, featuring Hannon, Willem Botha, Amanda Strydom, Carmién Tea, Reandi Grey, Lizz Meiring, Susan Coetzer, John Rock Prophet, and Hannes van Wyk
- Aviation fuel is now available at NAMPO Park, a welcome addition for visitors travelling in by light aircraft
- An expanded shuttle service with additional trailers makes navigating the grounds smoother and more convenient for all visitors

The Crowd Favourites Are Back
The things people keep coming back for are all present and accounted for. The Standard Bank 4x4 and Adventure 4x4 tracks promise the same high-energy demonstrations that have become a staple of the NAMPO experience. The seed plots on the eastern side of the grounds continue to offer a practical look at the latest genetics and crop varieties available to producers.
The Nation in Conversation series returns with its trademark high-level discussions on local and international agricultural issues. Due to recent foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks, cloven-hoofed animals will not be present at NAMPO 2026 but the TAU Animal Feeds Livestock Arena isn't standing still. Horses, dogs, and poultry will still feature under strict biosecurity protocols, while breed societies have reimagined their displays to go beyond the physical animal, spotlighting the science and performance data behind the breeds. A strongman competition and additional surprises round out the arena's programme.
The Grain SA Museum, proudly sponsored by Santam and situated next to the Chairman's Reception Area on the western side of the grounds, continues to chronicle the history of Grain SA and NAMPO. It’s a worthwhile stop for anyone wanting to understand the roots of South African grain production.
Easier to Navigate, Easier to Enjoy
The NAMPO 2026 app has been upgraded to make the most of a visit. With details on more than 900 exhibitors, improved navigation tools, video content, and interactive features, visitors can map out their day before they even set foot on the grounds.
Getting to NAMPO is straightforward. OFM will broadcast live from the park with real-time traffic updates, while the Mieliehop shuttle service runs daily between Bothaville and NAMPO Park. Additional routes from OR Tambo International Airport and surrounding towns improve access for visitors travelling from further afield. Traffic flow has been reassessed this year, with gravel access routes likely to be back in operation to help ease congestion — a change from recent years.
Visitors arriving by air can make use of the Century Avionics airport lounge and shuttle service. On the grounds themselves, tractor-drawn trailers transport visitors between exhibits, with additional bus stops added to improve coverage across all areas.
Accommodation and Food
The caravan park south of Gate 2 remains a reliable accommodation option, with 100 powered stands and two ablution blocks available for those who want to stay close to the action across all four days.
Food is, as always, a highlight. The Syngenta Boerekos Plaaskombuis returns with its farm-style menu and relaxed atmosphere, complemented by the traditional food stalls run by rural non-profit organisations. Together they create a dining experience that's as authentically South African as the event itself.
